Confirmation at St. Edward Parish is a three year program beginning in the 9th grade. We collaborate with the Catholic Community in Central Racine
Students in the 9th and 10th grades will learn about their Catholic faith in a variety of ways including; scripture study, prayer, large and small group discussions and service opportunities designed to help deepen their relationship with God and each other.
Confirmation is one of three sacraments of Initiation. It is through Baptism that we are initially received into God's family. The Sacrament of Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism by a special outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which seal or "confirm" our union with Christ and equip us for active participation in the life of the Church. The Eucharist, which is called the "Source and the Summit of Christian life", completes Christian Initiation.
Students who have reached the 11th grade are eligible to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. The 'confirmandi', as they are known, will continue their study of scripture, prayer and service to the parish and the community. And as Catholics we believe attending Mass and receiving the Eucahrist is the foundation for any religious education program
In order to provide our students with a fuller religious education experience, St. Edward Parish will be working with our cluster parishes, St. Patrick and St. Richard and ACTS Youth Ministry
Classes meet on WEDNESDAY evenings from 6:30pm - 8:00pm at St. Patrick Parish - John XXIII Center - 1100 Erie Street.
NOTE: Because of Covid-19, Classes will temporarily meet on-line until further notice
